On Friday, May 11th 1st Five, in partnership with the University of Iowa Division of Child & Community Health is hosting the annual Critical Conversations: Child Development & Mental Health Conference. This exciting, and interactive conference is designed to help primary care providers identify children experiencing adversity early on in order to set them up for brighter futures. The conference will cover a variety of important topics such as: developmental screening and surveillance, social determinants of health, nutrition and maternal stress on the developing brain.
